Larry Richards Ando is an expert in software development, managing a global network of developers. His expertise spans financial engineering, machine learning, and control engineering.
He co-founded Nippotica in 2024 and previously led AI feature development for Kanshudo, a globally recognized Japanese language learning platform, in 2023.
In 2015, he collaborated with the top quant Peter Jäckel to develop Vollib, an open-source option pricing library based on Jäckel’s research. From 2016 to 2022, he served as CTO of Gammon Capital, a hedge fund. Before that, he founded Iota Technologies, a financial trading system provider, which was later acquired by Gammon Capital. He became an independent software developer in 2010 after working in mobile infrastructure development at Ericsson and NEC from 1994 to 2010.
Larry holds a Master’s degree from Tokyo University of the Arts, where he was a recipient of a scholarship from Japan’s Ministry of Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of North Texas.
